This policy explains how ohwalker.com ("the site") handles personal data. Effective: 2026-06-21

1. Information we collect

The site has no sign-up, so we do not collect account details. When you visit, the following may be collected automatically: cookies, browser/device info, access logs, and page-view records. If you email us, your email address is used only to reply. If you post a comment, the data described in section 2 is also collected.

2. Comments

The site provides a comment feature that requires no login. When you post a comment, the following is collected and stored:

  • Name (nickname) and comment text: shown publicly on the site exactly as entered and stored in a Cloudflare D1 database. You do not need to enter your real name or any identifying details.
  • Timestamp: stored and displayed alongside the comment.
  • Hashed IP address: to prevent spam and flooding, we store only a salted SHA-256 hash of your IP address. The raw IP address is never stored, the hash is never made public, and it is used solely for rate limiting.
  • Bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile): Cloudflare Turnstile is used to block automated posting. During verification, the Turnstile token and your IP address are sent to Cloudflare, which handles them under its own privacy policy.

To have a comment deleted or corrected, email the address below with the post URL and the comment text.

3. Cookies & advertising

This site uses cookies.

  • Google Analytics: cookies used to analyze visit statistics.
  • Google AdSense: third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it to serve ads to you.

View counter: per-post view counts are recorded via Cloudflare as anonymous aggregate numbers only, without cookies, and do not identify individuals.

You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party cookies at aboutads.info. You may also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

4. Third-party services

The site uses Google Analytics, Google AdSense, GitHub Pages (hosting), and Cloudflare (DNS, view counts, comment storage via D1, bot protection via Turnstile). Each follows its own privacy policy.

5. Data retention & sharing

We do not sell or share collected statistics with third parties beyond analytics purposes. Comments are retained until you request deletion or the site owner removes them as inappropriate.

6. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.
