My First Treadmill Run: Half-Marathon Interval Training

My first time running on a treadmill.

With Typhoon Hinnamnor bearing down and the wind and rain just relentless, I headed to the gym instead.

I’m not really into the other workouts there — I started on the treadmill purely to train for a half marathon.

I did intervals alternating between a 12 km/h pace and a 9 km/h pace, though unfortunately I didn’t give myself enough rest between them. Next time I’m thinking of trying intervals at 12 km/h and 6 km/h instead.

I ran for about 30 minutes and covered a little over 5 km.

As for how tough it was — somewhere just shy of “really, really hard.” So, hard.

With a record-breaking typhoon on the way, I’m hoping everyone stays safe and out of harm’s way.
