Garmin Enduro 2 Watch Bands: Titanium, Silicone & Nylon

Gear · Published 2/15/2024 ·

It’s been a few months now since I started wearing the Garmin Enduro 2. Since it’s a watch I keep on pretty much 24/7, swapping out the band now and then — depending on what I’m doing or just how I’m feeling — gives me a nice change of pace and helps me match the watch to the occasion. Here are the bands I’m currently using: titanium, silicone, and the rest are nylon.

This is the Enduro 2. The body is a dark titanium color with a chunky design. It’s not sleek and sharp like an Apple Watch. The look reminds me of an old G-Shock — the diameter is large and it’s got some real thickness to it. The battery lasts a remarkably long time; right now it’s showing 17 days left at 81%. On a full charge it feels like you get about 24–25 days of use. That depends on your usage pattern, of course, but two weeks is easily doable.

Titanium

It’s a similar color to the body and made of metal, so I wear it often when heading into the office.

Taking a close-up photo, I can see it’s got some scratches and all. I’ve adjusted the band so many times that the pins inside aren’t even fully intact anymore. I just barely got it sized to my wrist, and if I ever switch to a different Garmin model and the size doesn’t match, I’ll probably have to buy a new one. So far, though, it’s serving me well.

It unlocks when you pinch the middle of the clasp with two fingers. It’s the same dark titanium color as the watch.

It’s a quick-release in 26mm. For anyone looking at a metal band to fit the Enduro 2 or a watch of similar size, remember: 26mm.

Since it’s titanium, the price is steep — I recall a new one running 400,000–500,000 won. It’s just not a material that delivers bang for the buck, so people really seem to buy it purely as a matter of preference. I’ve also tried a Chinese-made stainless steel band, but it’s way too heavy. Stainless products can run tens of thousands of won too depending on quality, so you have to be careful not to end up spending twice. The Enduro watch is already heavy to begin with, so if you’re going to go metal, you’re honestly better off with the genuine band.

Silicone

An all-weather band. It doesn’t care about the time or place.

It’s great for easy, no-fuss use anytime. The silicone band in the photo below is genuine, but the cheap Chinese ones are pretty much the same in quality. I think it’s perfectly fine to order one or two in whatever color you like for cheap and use those.

The loop is on the wider side, and even if you fasten it loosely it won’t come undone. I remember it being great for hiking. Even when I got sweaty, I could just head to the restroom and rinse my wrist off, which was nice.

Nylon

I wear this one day to day, and for workouts I mostly use it when running.

This is a nylon band that fastens with velcro. You can get it to sit snug against your wrist. By nature it’s light and tough. To track your sleep you have to wear the watch to bed, and if you just wrap it onto your wrist at a comfortable tightness, it doesn’t bother you at all. When running, it’s annoying if the watch slips down or wobbles on your wrist, so you have to wear it snug and run. Honestly, the Enduro 2 itself isn’t well suited for running — it’s too big, too heavy, too thick. But if you want one watch to do everything, you’ve got to wear it anyway. That’s where the nylon band really shines. The black one is genuine. When you buy the Enduro, it comes with two bands — one silicone and one nylon.

The three below are all cheap ones I bought. There may be a slight difference in quality, but there’s no problem at all in using them. They’re about 1/10 the price of the genuine ones…

Just because they’re cheap doesn’t mean they come loose or fall off your wrist.

After a workout, I take the band off right away, wash it, and hang it to dry, then grab the next one to wear. It dries within a day, but I just keep them in rotation. Washing them often keeps the smell down and minimizes color fading. Garmin has no trouble pulling off a variety of looks, just like the Apple Watch. ^^
