Charging Up for a Night Ride: Lights, Di2 & Garmin Prep
Cycling · Published 10/31/2022 ·

A headlight and a tail light.
I’m charging them up because I’m planning a night ride for the first time in a while.

This is my Shimano Di2 charging.
A quick top-up is enough for a long ride, but since I hadn’t ridden in so long, I left it on the charger for more than 30 minutes.

I don’t have a cycling windbreaker for the cold wind, so here I am wearing my hiking one instead.
That windbreaker gave me such a hard time on the ride that day.

I couldn’t find my skull cap anywhere, so I bought a bunch of cheap ones — well, sort of in bulk. Five of them, actually.
I’m breaking one in here. It doesn’t squeeze my head and it’s nice and comfortable.

Last but not least, charging up the dashboard — er, I mean the bike computer.
It lasts longer than you’d think, but there’s still no skipping the charge.
It charges very slowly past 95%, so once it hits roughly 90% you can just unplug and head out.
I went for a road bike ride for the first time in ages — Ilsan to Banpo and back.
My fitness has pretty much been reset to zero. ㅜㅜ
Winter is brutal.
I can’t wait for warm spring days to come so I can ride to my heart’s content.
