Brompton P Line Night Ride to Han River Ramen Spot

Cycling · Published 10/13/2022 ·

The weather hasn’t quite turned cold yet, so I headed out for a night ride.

My destination: the Ministop Hangang Gangseo Branch #1.

They make a really good bowl of ramen there. ^^;;

The photos are a bit out of order, but the one above was taken at the Pangaemok rest area.

I lined up two Brompton P Lines side by side for the shot. Honestly, this is my favorite way to see them.

This one I snapped right after arriving at the destination.

People say the Easy Wheels in the back roll better, but in practice they don’t really feel like they roll all that well.

I guess I should do the same tuning everyone else does.

I’m not 100% sure, but I think this is the first convenience store you hit after crossing the Haengju Bridge.

After this one, you have to go all the way to the Yanghwa area.

Today, instead of the foil-pack ramen, I kept it simple and just had a cup noodle for my meal.

As you can see, there’s a bike rack too. These days hardly any bikes come with their own kickstand, so restaurants and convenience stores along the bike paths have set up spots where you can park your bike properly.

Here’s my speed and heart rate, breaks included.

Counting only the time I was actually moving, my average speed was 19 km/h.

Minivelos aren’t exactly built for speed, but the Brompton P Line holds its own better than you’d expect.

I rode 32 km in total. The workout time came to 2 hours 42 minutes, which felt about right.

Even on a Brompton, you can comfortably ride from Ilsan out to Yeouido or the Han River.
