A Lunchtime Walk Along the Sangam-dong Stream

My day job changed and I went quiet on the blog for a long while. I’m working over in the Sangam-dong area these days, so I finally took advantage of my lunch break to go for a walk. It still feels like the tail end of winter, but I have a feeling the greenery will be filling in soon.

I couldn’t quite tell whether it was a flowing river or a still pond, but the map calls it a stream. We had some rain the other day, so the water level seems a little higher than usual. Come summer, I think it’ll turn into a really nice spot.

There’s even a little Bamseom island in the middle.

Someone was out walking their dog, too.

This is the path the Maenggkkongi shuttle from Noeul Campground runs along. I spotted one going by.

No honking…

There were so many wide-open spaces. In summer it’d be lovely to spread out a mat and just hang out.

I think it’d also be a nice spot to grab a packed lunch and eat outside.

It still has that end-of-winter feel, but with a couple more rains and maybe a month’s time, this is going to be a beautiful path once the greenery thickens up.
The area around Sangam-dong has so many parks — it really looked like a great place for a walk.
Before I hurt my ankle, I used to run laps around the Sangam-dong area, but there’s plenty to see even at a slow walking pace.
When I run fast, I’m so focused on the running that I don’t really take in the scenery around me. Walking, it turns out, is its own kind of workout — one with plenty to gain.
Thank you.
